Love the Horowitz performance the most. But there were three Beethoven Sonatas that top the list for me: Number 18 (Waldstein), Number 29 (Hammerklavier), and Number 32 (his final piano sonata).
Incidentally, the title Hammerklavier was the German translation for piano-forte, as the instrument was widely referred to during Beethoven’s era.
