  • unfortunately I did not appreciate this recording. it belongs to times gone by, when one considers how the various recordings today have been perfected almost 100%. I remember my aunt Kathleen Long saying to me as a boy that a recording of a piano does not sound like one. she belonged to the older generation, and recorded on Decca records. She would be so pleased at the improvements that have taken place. anyway many thanks Vitaliy for sending this. I greatly appreciate it

    I have always had special feelings for variations 6, 12, and 24. I always looked at this performance in four groups of 6, so that places each of these at the end of a cycle. I was always less enamored of 18, due to it being so ubiquitous, that everyone forgets about the other 23.
