It is interesting hearing the difference in the two recordings. The first recording seems a little brighter than the second which is more warm. Of course, this could have been a factor of the mix and EQ but the warmer version reminded me of the warmth of the Philadelphia Strings under Eugene Ormandy. The warmth and beauty of his strings were equally as good as Von Karajan’s. Also the second recording uses a much smaller string orchestra making it almost like a chamber music piece. Thank you, Vitaliy, for sharing these excellent recordings of such a beautiful selection of music.
